I’m a Facebook addict. However I purposely don’t write everything on my Status that goes on in the day 1~ no one really cares that much 2~ people think I’m on there enough already, which I am but just for a minute or two at a time. I never sign out of Facebook so when I need a break from the kids/chores/life I check out what other people are up to.
Well I have two adorably cute kids that do lots of cute things I’d love to tell the world about…. So for today I’ll leave my Blog logged in and just write the cuteness as it happens..
Yesterday ~ Joy points to her one snap that’s come undone on her pj’s “uh oh Hun” she say’s. I start snapping the snap “did you just call me Hun?” I look at her inquisitively. Joy chuckles “uh oh Mommy”. She did it later in the day too, calling me Hun. Guess that’s what Daddy calls me so she might as well too right? LOL.
Joy just found a little pendant that fell off her diaper bag zipper (it’s a honey pot). She came up and showed it to me, asked if she could have it. I said yes but keep it away from baby. She then tried to put it on like an earing. I informed her it’s not for her ear but her pocket. “Oh, Puppa” she said as she placed it in her pocket. Guess I’ll have to start emptying her pockets too before I do the wash.
Joy say’s Puppa for her Poppa, Puppa for pocket. Teeko for Tickle and Pickle. Poots for Boots, Poots for Poop… it’s just a matter of asking her which it is and she say’s Yup or No. She actually calls all Grandparents Poppa, except my mom who is Poppa 2.
Joy’s favorite word at the moment “what”……. ugh… not a word I’d hope she’d learn for a long time. She wanders around the house saying it.
She is sitting next to me at the moment waving “hello” to a vase on the top of our pantry. what a goof!
This morning Olivia woke up at 7am. It had been a long night and I was not willing to get up just yet. After my attempt to nurse her back to sleep failed I surrounded her with pillows on Orlund’s side of the bed and tucked myself back in. She played, I dosed in and out. Around 7:30am Joy decided to get up, I only know this because I awoke to thinking there is a little hand behind me on the bed, sure enough when I rolled over Joy was standing there rubbing her eyes with one hand on the bed. I said Hi, she said Hi and wandered out of the room. About 8am I decided I should get up, just as I sat up Joy came into the room carrying a plastic container. She was wanting me to open the container. She doesn’t know what the container holds so I was able to easily distract her. Icing sugar for breakfast is not a good plan! Once I finally made my way to the kitchen I realized she had gone into the fridge and gotten her milk out, it was set on the little table we have for the kids. She must have been sitting there drinking it ~ SO CUTE! Then when she got bored, or hungry I guess she decided to take a peak in the pantry. She can’t reach all the good stuff (like real food), she can only reach the baking stuff, guess the icing sugar container looked yummiest. She was still looking in the pantry when I got there, she decided the Strawberry syrup looked tasty… that was a little harder to distract her from…
Looks like the chores I had planned to do today wont all be getting done. Some I planned to do while the girls napped. Olivia isn’t usually a big napper, however it would be just enough time for me to get some things done…. Well this morning she first fought going for a nap, finally giving in at 12pm. She slept until 1pm! That’s a long time for her… well now it will be MINIMUM 2 hours before she naps again, so that’s 3pm, right when Joy will be getting up. pout. so much for getting those chores checked off my list. I guess I could do them tonight once they are in bed. Usually by that time though I’m ready for bed, or at least ready to put my feet up and relax.
I love Christmas music, actually I love having music playing softly almost anytime. Today as I sat at the table feeding Olivia her breakfast I noticed the Christmas music playing softly in the background. It took me a moment to realize Joy had turned it on… Guess she likes the music too. A few times today she’s even selected a different cd to listen to, pushed play and everything (our cd player has 4 cd’s to select from).
What a cutie
She’s currently lassoing Orlund with a big belt I use to close suitcases when traveling. It’s so special to watch them play together, to bad I have to be the meanie and tell them it’s her nap time…
Well the girls are in bed now…who knows how long I have before Olivia starts crying for another ‘snack’. But before I end this post I want to tell you a cute story about Olivia that happened today~
While Joy was napping Olivia had a ‘stay-with-mom-or-cry-like-crazy’ moment so I brought her into the washroom with me. I sat her on the floor next to two ice cream pales (empty and clean). She thought they looked rather fun, so pulled the one out of the other. First she chewed the rim. tasty. Then she flipped it up so she was looking at the bottom, and proceeded to talk into it, giggling at her echo. Then, she went a step further, flipping the bucket onto her head. She proceeded to giggle away at having it over her head. Then flipped it off and continued playing with it. She then grabbed the other bucket, did the same thing, then had fun banging them together. And no it doesn’t take that long for me to use the washroom, but she was so cute so I stayed and watched her play.
Well I hope you enjoyed the stories.
